Don’t worry: crypto assets are safe and under your control as long as only you have access to your secret recovery phrase. Therefore, if you lose your Ledger Stax, it is enough to purchase the same device or any other Ledger wallet, and then use the seed phrase to restore access to your accounts.
Software wallets store private keys on devices that are connected to the internet. Accordingly, this jeopardizes the safety of crypto assets due to the prospect of various online attacks. At the same time, storing cryptocurrencies on an exchange implies the transfer of private keys to an intermediary and the lack of control over one’s own crypto assets. Even if someone steals your Ledger Stax, it is impossible to access your crypto assets without a PIN. Also, after three incorrect PIN entries, Ledger Stax will automatically delete your private keys from the device and reset to factory settings.
