Ballet Crypto Gift Card USD lets you give someone a dollar-backed stablecoin in the form of a physical card. The recipient can independently check the balance, hold the asset at the card’s address, or transfer it to a compatible wallet. The card requires no battery, cable, software updates, or connection to a computer.
Stablecoin sold separately
The card is supplied without any digital assets loaded onto it. Before giving it to someone, you transfer the supported dollar-backed stablecoin to the card from an exchange, software wallet, or another compatible service. Scan the information QR code and verify the exact name of the supported stablecoin.
Two protected access components
The asset is managed using Passphrase Entropy and Encrypted Private Key Entropy. One component is concealed beneath a scratch-off security layer, while the other is protected by a tamper-evident sticker with a QR code. Both components are required to transfer the funds.
Before funding the card, make sure the scratch-off layer and security sticker are intact and that the serial numbers on the card and sticker match exactly. Do not reveal the protected information in advance or share it with anyone else. Anyone who sees both components may be able to access the asset.
Check the balance
The public information QR code can be scanned using a standard smartphone camera. This opens a webpage showing up-to-date information about the supported asset and the balance held at the card’s address. You do not need to remove the scratch-off layer or security sticker to check the balance. This lets you confirm that the card has been successfully funded.
Manage the asset through Ballet Crypto
To transfer the asset, add the card to the Ballet Crypto app. Scan the information QR code, select the card, enter a compatible recipient address, and reveal the two protected components to authorize the transaction. The app lets you view and manage the asset, but it does not hold it. Control over the funds is determined by the information stored on the physical card.
A simple gift format
Ballet Crypto Gift Card USD is a convenient way to physically give someone a dollar-backed stablecoin that offers a more familiar and less volatile alternative to many other digital assets. The recipient does not need to create an account, write down a seed phrase, or configure an electronic hardware wallet in advance to view the gift.
The Crypto Gift Card is designed to be funded once and then used to transfer the full balance. Once the Passphrase Entropy and Encrypted Private Key Entropy have been revealed, it is recommended to transfer the asset to a new secure address and stop using the opened card for long-term storage.
Ballet Crypto Gift Card USD supports only one dollar-backed stablecoin intended for this version of the card.
The card cannot hold multiple stablecoins or other cryptocurrencies at the same time. Before funding it, scan the information QR code or add the card to Ballet Crypto to verify the exact asset name and supported network.
Do not send Bitcoin, Ethereum, or another stablecoin simply because its value is also pegged to the US dollar. Sending an unsupported token or selecting the wrong network may result in the permanent loss of funds.
