#Ledger tutorial. Maximize battery life
How to maximize Ledger battery lifespan depends on the model, because not every Ledger has a battery. Among current models, four devices have a rechargeable battery: Nano X, Stax, Flex, and Nano Gen5. Nano S Plus does not have a battery: it works only when connected by cable battery: Nano X, Stax, Flex, and Nano Gen5. Nano S Plus does not have a battery: it works only when connected by cable, so this guide does not apply to it.
The most common situation customers describe is simple: the device sat unused for a long time, and now it holds less charge or does not charge at all. Poor storage wears out a lithium-ion battery faster than everyday use. Below, we collected Ledger’s official recommendations on how to avoid this. The numbers for Nano X and the newer models (Stax, Flex, Nano Gen5) are different, so we split them into separate sections.
Why the battery wears out
The mechanism is the same for all lithium-ion batteries. Four things cause the most damage:
How to maximize Ledger battery lifespan: general rules for all models
Regardless of the model, a few basic habits help:
Nano X: specific numbers
Nano X is the older model, and Ledger gives it different recommendations than the newer devices:
Ledger estimates the Nano X battery lifespan at 5 years. The manufacturer does not offer a battery replacement program. Even when the battery no longer holds a charge, the device works when connected by USB cable, so you keep access to your coins.
If your Nano X sat unused for a long time and now does not charge or shows a charging error, start with battery conditioning. This is a separate procedure, which we covered in the guide “Ledger Nano X battery conditioning”.
Stax, Flex, and Nano Gen5: specific numbers
These are newer battery-powered devices, and Ledger gives them a separate set of recommendations:
Stax can also charge wirelessly through a Qi charging station. Ledger recommends the Belkin BoostCharge 10 W charger and does not guarantee compatibility with other wireless charging stations. Stax is not compatible with Apple MagSafe or MagSafe accessories. During wireless charging, the device may heat up, which can slow down or stop charging. If this happens, check that the temperature is within 0-35 °C and that Stax is lying flat on the station. Flex and Nano Gen5 do not support wireless charging, only USB-C.
Flex and Nano Gen5 show the battery level indicator in the lower-right corner of the home screen, while Stax shows it on the curved part of the screen, next to the device name.
When it is already a defect and time to contact support
A lithium-ion battery loses capacity over time, and some degradation after years of use is normal. Contact support if, after following the rules above:
If you bought the device from us, write to us first. We consult our customers for free: we will help you tell normal battery behavior from a fault and, if needed, explain how to submit a support request.
Where to buy and where to ask for help
Warranty repair and replacement are handled by the manufacturer: official Ledger support accepts requests at support.ledger.com. This is the only channel for such issues.
If you need a new device, you can order it directly from Ledger or from us. At Lwallet, we make this simpler than ordering from abroad: local delivery across Ukraine, payment in hryvnia, no waiting at customs, and support in your time zone. We sell only original devices, and you can verify authenticity yourself through Genuine Check in the Ledger Wallet app (formerly Ledger Live) when you connect the device for the first time. Ordering directly from Ledger is also possible; it is the primary source. But if you are in Ukraine, buying from us is faster and easier.

What Is XAUT Digital Gold? Why Does It Matter in 2026?
XAUT is called digital gold because it is a token pegged to real physical gold. The idea is simple: gold stores value, and blockchain gives it a digital wrapper — so you can buy it, store it, and transfer it like a crypto asset. The formula here is literally: gold + blockchain = XAUT. Instead …
