If Tether blacklists your address, replacing the device or restoring the wallet will not remove the restriction. Your USDT balance is recorded in the token’s smart contract on a specific network, such as Ethereum or TRON. The hardware wallet holds your private key and signs a transaction specifying the recipient’s address and the transfer amount. To execute it, the network checks the signature and the contract’s rules, including whether the sender’s address is blacklisted.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

If an address is blacklisted, a valid signature is not enough to transfer USDT<\/strong>. Your wallet app may detect the restriction before broadcasting the transaction; if the transaction is included in a block, its execution will fail. Even a failed transaction consumes network resources: on Ethereum, you pay a fee in ETH, while TRON uses Energy to execute the contract and Bandwidth to transmit transaction data. If those resources are insufficient, TRX is burned to cover the cost. You still control your private key, but you cannot transfer the frozen tokens.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

A hardware wallet keeps private keys isolated from your computer or smartphone, reducing the risk of malware stealing them.
